Heath Ledger was born on 4th April 1979 in Perth, Australia. When he went to primary school, he chose drama. The options were cooking or drama. So he chose drama. He appeared secondary school much, so he left school when he was 17. He went to Sydney to be an actor. In Sydney, he made some low-budget films and he did well in some TV dramas. But he did not have much success. In 1999, he had some success with a film called Two Hands. Then he moved to America. He acted in several films, including The Patriot. He became very famous with the film Brokeback Mountain in 2005. In 2007 he played the Joker in the Batman film The Dark Knight. Unfortunately, he died at his home in New York on 22nd January, 2008.
