I have learned that the USA has over 50 national parks, starting with Yellowstone, which was the first national park. In Britain, the first national park was the Peak District, and now there are 15 national parks in England and Wales. Their purpose is to protect nature and provide enjoyment for people. The Everglades in the USA and the Lake District in Britain are notable examples.
